Job description

About the Role

At 7 17 Credit Union, our mission is simple: We help people improve their lives financially and support the communities we serve.

We’re looking for an organized, collaborative, and results-oriented Project Manager to help lead the planning, coordination, communication, and execution of organizational initiatives.

In this role, you’ll work closely with project sponsors, business leaders, project teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to keep projects organized, moving forward, and aligned with business objectives. You’ll be responsible for coordinating projects from initiation through completion while helping teams navigate priorities, dependencies, risks, and challenges along the way.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing people together, creating structure around complex initiatives, and helping turn ideas into successful outcomes.

What You'll Do

Project Planning & Management

  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and timelines using approved project management tools.
  • Work with business leaders to understand project scope, goals, deliverables, and required resources.
  • Coordinate project teams and help ensure the right resources are available to accomplish project objectives.
  • Identify project risks, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and critical path activities.
  • Monitor project progress and recommend adjustments when priorities or timelines change.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, status updates, meeting notes, decision logs, and issue logs.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and document lessons learned and recommendations for improvement.
  • Help develop and improve project management standards, templates, processes, and best practices.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Provide regular project updates to project sponsors, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate activities and communication across departments, business units, vendors, consultants, and external partners.
  • Build productive working relationships that support successful project outcomes.
  • Help facilitate issue resolution and remove obstacles that may affect project progress.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and engagement among project team members.

Project Execution

  • Coordinate project activities from initiation through completion.
  • Assign, track, and follow up on project tasks and action items.
  • Ensure team members understand responsibilities, deadlines, and expected outcomes.
  • Monitor task completion and escalate concerns when deadlines or deliverables are at risk.
  • Manage project dependencies and impacts across teams.
  • Track milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, and change requests.
  • Support organizational change through project coordination, communications, and training.
  • Proactively identify issues and work with stakeholders to develop solutions and contingency plans.
A Few Things You Should Know

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility. However, the Project Manager provides coordination and leadership to members of project teams and works across departments and organizational levels to help ensure successful project outcomes.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

    Why 7 17 Credit Union?

At 7 17, every position plays a role in supporting our members and communities. Whether you're working directly with members or supporting the organization behind the scenes, your work contributes to our mission of helping people improve their financial lives.

If you're a project-focused professional who enjoys organization, collaboration, problem-solving, and seeing initiatives through from idea to completion, we'd love to hear from you!

    What We're Looking For
    • Experience leading, coordinating, or managing projects and project teams.
    • Experience developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, status reports, and project documentation.
    • Experience facilitating meetings and communicating effectively with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
    • Experience managing multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, gain cooperation, and influence outcomes without direct authority.
    • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
    • Excellent organization and time-management skills.
    • Understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
    • Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Planner, Smartsheet, Monday.com, or similar platforms.
    • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, timelines, and business needs.
    • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

    • Ability to manage conflict professionally and assist with resolving project-related issues.
    • Ability to research, learn, and apply new business processes, technologies, and concepts.
    • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and sound professional judgment.
