We are seeking an experienced Project Manager, Rare Business Unit in Smyrna, GA to lead new account implementations and process improvement initiatives across Operations, Information Technology, Client Services and Partnerships, and other cross-functional teams.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager, Rare Business Unit is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing new account implementations and process improvement projects. This role works collaboratively across departments to ensure projects are completed effectively and meet established scope, timeline, cost, and quality expectations.

The Project Manager will oversee project planning, stakeholder communication, requirements gathering, implementation activities, post-launch evaluation, and project closure. This position requires strong organization, communication, relationship management, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Travel of up to 10% may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review Statements of Work and define project scope, objectives, deliverables, stakeholders, and impacted teams.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed implementation and project plans.
  • Lead internal and external kickoff meetings, recurring implementation meetings, project-planning sessions, and requirements-gathering sessions.
  • Provide timely project updates regarding progress, risks, priorities, adjustments, and upcoming milestones.
  • Track project activities and ensure deliverables are completed within established deadlines.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes to maintain alignment across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and stakeholder requirements.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional requirements for business analysts, implementation teams, product owners, and Information Technology teams.
  • Develop process flows, specifications, diagrams, charts, and other project documentation, as needed.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing and communicate findings to Information Technology and project stakeholders.
  • Measure and report on project and implementation performance following launch.
  • Identify operational barriers and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and consistency.
  • Manage Rare Business Unit process improvement and change-management projects across applicable business areas.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Information Technology, and other teams to investigate and resolve process-related issues.
  • Present project updates during cross-functional, process improvement, and Rare Business Unit meetings.
  • Maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal teams and external clients.
  • Help define, document, and maintain consistent project management and implementation processes.
  • Organize multiple milestones, tasks, and competing priorities into effective project plans.
  • Remain involved in client and stakeholder interactions after implementation, based on business needs.
  • Mentor junior members of the Continuous Process Improvement team and delegate approved project support activities, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree or at least two years of related college coursework required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • At least seven years of related experience in project coordination, project management, quality, process improvement, implementation, or a similar area.
  • Healthcare, specialty pharmacy, or pharmacy-related experience is strongly preferred.
  • Project management certification such as PMP, CAPM, CSM, PMI-ACP, or Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt preferred.
  • Candidates who are not currently certified must be prepared to obtain an applicable certification within 12 months of entering the role.
  • Experience with business concepts such as return on investment, key performance indicators, strategic goals, contracts, requests for proposals, and goal setting.
  • Strong project-planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to identify problems and support decisions.
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and translating business requirements.
  • Effective written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, stakeholders, and competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and move initiatives through execution, quality review, and closure.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications.
