Job description

Project Manager/Senior Project Manager About the Role

At Brooks & Freund, our Project Managers are the leaders who set the standard. You carry full accountability for the successful delivery of your Project — on schedule, within budget, and to the quality our clients expect. Beyond the projects themselves, you may lead and develop the people around you, shaping the project management team and contributing to the culture and future of Brooks & Freund as an employee-owned company.

This role is for an experienced construction leader who takes deep ownership, communicates with authority and clarity, and builds the relationships that drive long‑term success for the company and everyone in it.

Key Responsibilities Ownership
  • Oversee and manage construction projects from pre‑construction through closeout, with full accountability for budget, schedule, quality, and safety.
  • Monitor key project performance indicators and report results accurately and on time.
  • Ensure project teams stay on schedule — actively remove roadblocks and solve problems before they become costly.
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are upheld without exception across all projects.
  • Consistently seek opportunities to improve existing processes, policies, and ways of working.
Communication
  • Provide clear, timely, and proactive communication to all stakeholders — project updates, progress reports, conflict resolution, and everything in between.
  • Apply the coaching and performance management process consistently to develop high‑performing teams.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and quality through your own actions and hold the team to the same standard.
  • Lead project management staff — including Project Managers, Field Superintendents, Project Coordinators, and administrative team members — with direction, clarity, and accountability.
Relationships
  • Foster positive, professional working relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and team members at every level.
  • Create a collaborative, high‑trust environment where your team is motivated, supported, and set up to succeed.
  • Champion the development of Brooks & Freund's ESOP culture — model what it means to think and act like an owner, and inspire others to do the same.
  • Serve as a visible, trusted leader both internally and externally, representing Brooks & Freund with professionalism and integrity.
What You Bring
  • 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, managing full project scope from pre‑construction to closeout
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering strongly preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and delivering high‑quality results
  • Extensive knowledge of construction processes, methods, materials, building codes, and regulations
  • Experience in Senior Living, Assisted Living, Multifamily, or Single‑Family construction strongly preferred
  • A leader who builds people up, holds standards high, and takes pride in the success of the whole team
