Job Description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for driving 1 extra-large projects or 2-3 medium-to-large enterprise level cross-functional projects concurrently. This role has advanced project management experience and skillsets and are accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the project including detailed financial management, complex interdependent schedules, cross-functional dependencies, resource staffing and management, scope, quality assurance, and risks management. The Senior Project Manager ensures the project delivers with a high degree of efficiency and controls; and they have strong skills in executive level influence, conflict resolution, negotiation, leadership facilitation, and expert communication. They lead projects that involve a diverse set of internal and external teams that typically include business process transformation and complex technology outcomes. 

  • Responsible for driving the day-to-day management of enterprise projects including assessing, planning, executing, monitoring and closure of the project
  • Leads enterprise initiatives that are the most complex, highly visibility, cross functional and value driven work for Pilot
  • Facilitate the creation of detailed schedules (inclusive of cross-functional teams and external vendors), scope, budget and resource plans needed to deliver the project successfully
  • Leads, only with influence, cross-functional teams making sure they know what to do, when to do it and how their work fits into the bigger plan
  • Drives updates to executives on the specific project’s health, progress and roadblocks
  • Proactively drives the identification and assessment of risks and ensures appropriate responses and drives closure while ensuring issues are resolved with urgency and quality
  • Their success is measured by the delivery of the project on time, on scope, within budget and with the agreed quality
Qualifications
  • B.S. or equivalent degree in Business Management, Business Administration or related field
  • 5-10 years in progressive project experience in large, more complex initiatives in large highly matrixed organizations or through management consulting practices
  • Expert experience in delivery of initiatives leveraging multiple delivery practices & tools
  • PMP and Agile certifications highly preferred

    Specialized Knowledge

  • Highly advance Microsoft Office Skills (Visio, Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Strong experience with portfolio management tools such as Smartsheet & Jira
  • Deep understanding of multiple project delivery frameworks and methodologies including but not limited to waterfall, scrum, & kanban
