Job description

Project ManagerPBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating, through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We have an opportunity at our Martinez Refinery in California and are seeking a talented Project Manager to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy.

The Project Manager provides project management services to consistently deliver safe, transparent, predictable, and competitive project outcomes. The

Project Manager provides leadership to multi-disciplinary engineering/construction teams that involve a high degree of interaction. This role reports to the Manager of Capital Projects and will be assigned to specific projects to lead from initiation through delivery, execution, and startup.

Job Responsibilities May Include:

  • Assuring project objectives through all phases of capital projects delivery are met, from initiation to start-up, by serving as the project lead for assigned projects
  • Supporting the development of project cost estimates, schedules, and funding requests, taking action to ensure project delivery meets the targets
  • Ensuring that design deliverables are generated per schedule with particular attention to adherence with environmental/safety regulations and engineering standards with appropriate stakeholder input and communication
  • Developing the engineering, procurement, and construction contracting strategy for projects, with emphasis on the delivery of long-lead equipment within the project schedule
  • Facilitating the construction phase of projects by:
    • Tracking and reporting on project costs and schedule
    • Ensuring delivery of complete and accurate Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings
    • Addressing Requests for Information (RFIs) related to project design and drawings
  • Guaranteeing that all project closeout activities are completed, including record updates, as-built drawings, Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) documentation, Preventative Maintenance (PM) establishment, and financial closeout.

Position Specific Requirements:

  • Available in off hours and days to respond to refinery issues or emergencies, including on-call emergency response functions.
  • Mix of computer-based office work and field inspection and testing in refinery plant units
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Climb ladders
    • Walk up and down steps
  • Work in the Following Conditions:
    • At heights
    • Outside in inclement weather
  • Work Schedule:
    • Participation in duty rotation schedule to provide off-hours coverage for emergency situations
    • Occasionally an altered work schedule over an extended period may be required (maintenance outages and turnarounds)
  • Possess a valid Drivers' License
  • Candidate must have active TWIC card or be able to obtain a TWIC card. Information can be found at https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 years in Petroleum Refining or in a similar manufacturing setting
  • 5 years of Project Management experience in a manufacturing setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B. S. in Engineering
  • Professional Engineering license

The salary range for this position is $106,787.51 - $189,503.19. The compensation range listed in this posting is in compliance with applicable state law. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills and internal peer equity will be considered in determining the selected candidate's compensation. In addition to salary, PBF offers a comprehensive and generous benefits package.
