Job description

Payrate: $47.13 - $52.00 /hour.
 
Summary:
As a Manufacturing Engineer II located in Dubuque, IA, you will plan, coordinate, and perform manufacturing engineering work supporting machining, sheet metal, and tool design processes. You will work in a team environment to develop and improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and engineering solutions that meet established safety, quality, cost, and project requirements.
 
Responsibilities
  • Analyze manufacturing information and define the methods, process steps, machinery, tooling, and equipment needed to support production.
  • Design and continuously improve manufacturing processes and systems to achieve cost and quality objectives.
  • Develop engineering solutions and coordinate feasibility testing to support solution development and validation.
  • Support the development, application, and evaluation of engineering standards and specifications.
  • Inspect engineering work, equipment, installations, or structures and recommend corrective actions needed to meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures and implement improvements through established change management processes.
  • Coordinate activities with suppliers, subcontractors, and other external resources in accordance with established project and contract management plans.
  • Support product development and engineering activities by analyzing customer needs and delivering appropriate manufacturing solutions.
  • Manage assigned engineering activities within established project plans, schedules, and goals.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to help others effectively use engineering and knowledge management systems.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Equivalent manufacturing engineering education, training, and relevant professional experience.
  • Manufacturing engineering experience involving machining, sheet metal fabrication, tooling, equipment, or related manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to develop, implement, test, and improve engineering designs and manufacturing solutions.
  • Experience preparing and applying technical engineering specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex or conflicting information.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage work within an established project schedule.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with different audiences.
  • Ability to make timely decisions and remain accountable for commitments.
  • Knowledge of safe work systems, applicable policies, regulations, and risk-management practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production teams, suppliers, contractors, and other engineering functions.
 
Skills
  • Experience designing or improving machining, sheet metal, tooling, or related manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose operational problems and implement practical engineering solutions.
  • Experience coordinating engineering work with suppliers, subcontractors, or other external partners.
  • Ability to develop feasibility testing approaches and evaluate engineering outcomes.
  • Experience creating clear technical specifications, engineering documentation, and reports.
  • Working knowledge of project management, contract management, costing, or budgeting.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to identify inefficiencies in existing processes.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and build alignment among stakeholders with different priorities.
 
 
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $47.13 - $52.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages. Packages may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, health savings accounts with qualified medical plan enrollment, 10 paid days off, 3 days paid bereavement leave, 401(k) plan participation with employer match,  life and disability insurance, commuter benefits, dependent care flexible spending account, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, accommodations and reimbursement for work travel, and discretionary performance or recognition bonus. Sick leave and mobile phone reimbursement provided based on state or local law.
