Hours: Full-Time Position - 35 Hours
Work Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101
Only candidates who are permanent in the Project Manager Intern title or those who are reachable on the Open-Competitive list #5114 may apply. Please indicate a copy of your Notice of Result card or indicate if you are already permanent in the title. If you do not meet the previously mentioned civil service criteria, you will not be considered for an interview.
Reporting directly to the Director of ADA Compliance within the NYC Department of Design and Construction's Division of Public Buildings, the selected Project Manager Intern will assist with interpreting and applying the 2010 ADA Standards, Chapter 11 of the NYC Building Code, as well as other applicable federal, state, and local statutes and regulations that pertain to accessibility. The candidate will ensure the compliant design and construction of all capital projects by performing reviews of outside design consultants' work, participating in interagency meetings with design consultants and internal DDC staff, assisting with staff development, and conducting weekly construction site visits to assess the level of ADA/Accessibility compliance.
Please note: All candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.). In compliance with Public Law 99-603, candidates are required to present original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S. DDC is unable to support or sponsor any visa application or visa extension, including but not limited to OPT/STEM visas, H-1B visas, F-1
practical training, permanent residence sponsorship, or any proposed change of visa type. DDC does not offer a training program as required by U.S. immigration law, and is not hiring temporary employees. Candidates must have proper work authorization when an employment offer is made.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration; or
2. A master's degree in architecture that is the first professional degree in architecture from an accredited college or university.
