Job description

Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for managing precast concrete projects from contract award through production, delivery, and project closeout. This role serves as the primary liaison between customers, engineering, production, quality control, transportation, and field personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

• Review contracts, plans, specifications, and project requirements.

• Develop project schedules and production timelines.

• Coordinate engineering, drafting, and production activities.

• Monitor project milestones and proactively address delays.

Customer & Stakeholder Communication

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers.

• Conduct project kickoff meetings.

• Provide regular progress updates to customers and management.

• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and owners regarding project requirements.

Production Coordination

• Work closely with plant management and production supervisors to ensure manufacturing schedules are met.

• Coordinate material procurement and production priorities.

• Verify that production aligns with approved shop drawings and specifications.

Scheduling & Logistics

• Coordinate delivery schedules with customers and transportation providers.

• Ensure adequate equipment, trucking, and personnel resources are available.

• Monitor field installation schedules when applicable.

Financial Management

• Track project costs and budgets.

• Manage change orders and contract modifications.

• Review project invoicing and payment status.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure products meet project specifications and quality standards.

• Coordinate inspections and testing requirements.

• Maintain compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.

Risk Management

• Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.

• Resolve project conflicts and issues promptly.

• Maintain detailed project documentation and records.

Qualifications

Experience

• Project management experience in precast concrete, construction, manufacturing, or related industry preferred.

• Experience reading structural and civil drawings is preferred.

• Knowledge of PCI standards and precast manufacturing processes preferred.

• Strong leadership and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, ERP systems, and scheduling software.
