Job description

SUMMARY:

The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and initiation of new projects relating to the growth and expansion of lines of business for or related to PACE Southeast Michigan. The Project Manager will have responsibility for coming up with detailed project plans and solutions for the problem that might arise. They are responsible for overseeing the spectrum of projects within the organization from initiation to completion, staying on schedule, monitoring the project progress, and collaborating with all internal and external customers.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with healthcare professionals to improve the efficiency and quality of the delivery output/healthcare services.
  • Regular communication with all PACE staff during project. Responsible for communication, meetings, providing updates, to all staff involved/affected by project.
  • Manage the scope of activities that need to be delivered by the team using industry recognized project management tools, methodologies, technology.
  • Participate in operational and project meetings representing the team having full knowledge of the status of activities upcoming, in-progress, and completed.
  • Stay ahead of changes to new laws and regulations to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations.
  • Assign and manage workload for all team members.
  • Manage client, team, and project escalations as they arise.
  • Continuously identify issues, challenges, and opportunities for improvement and proactively implement the changes required to address them.
  • Develop resource plans to forecast team utilization for upcoming projects and support work
  • Work closely with Marketing/Public Affairs department for communication purposes.
  • Assists in setting up onboarding or other needed meetings with current contracted vendors or new potential vendors/providers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree or PMP certification through the Project Management Institute
  • Five years or more years of experience in project management activities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a large project team.
  • Prior Healthcare and/or Human Service experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with government agencies and/or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to quickly become knowledgeable about each project sponsor's specific subject matter and business challenges being addressed by the assigned project(s).
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal/external customers both in writing and orally.
  • Strong computer skills including experience with MS Office, Outlook, Excel
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, detail oriented and impeccable follow-up skills a must.
