Job Title: Sr Project Manager - Healthcare AI Strategy
Location: Hybrid - Atlanta, GA

Job Type: Independent Contract (Contractor / Non-Employee)
Start Date: October 19th

Pay Rate: $100-$170 per hour (1099/C2C) - Flexible - Depending on Experience

Contract Length: 5 months

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the enterprise-wide Artificial Intelligence Transformation Strategy discovery phase. This role operationalizes cross-functional coordination between clinical, administrative, and financial executives and advanced data science engineering teams. The core mandate is to drive structured workshops, manage project scope, and deliver an actionable, multi-year AI investment roadmap synthesizing unstructured institutional pain points.


Responsibilities

SCOPE OF WORK: GOVERNANCE & EXECUTION

  • Establish Strategy Governance: Architect master plan, timeline, and track milestone delivery for 100+ executive discovery sessions.
  • Manage RAID Logs: Track, mitigate, and resolve administrative, clinical, and operational risks, issues, and project dependencies.
  • Resource Integration: Monitor active deployment tracking for financial capital, human resources, data pipelines, and infrastructure.
  • Benchmark Coordination: Secure and integrate high-viability AI use cases from peer Academic Medical Centers into the final roadmap.
  • Downstream Pipeline Planning: Organize and align workflow owners, process leads, and data SMEs for future deployment phases.
  • Change Readiness Tracking: Document organizational adoption readiness, executive champions, cultural friction, and speed factors.

FUNCTIONAL FOCUS VERTICALS

  • Maintain blended methodology timeline oversight across discovery streams covering: Clinical Operations, Nursing Workflow, Human Resources, Finance Modeling, Revenue Cycle, Supply Chain, Contact Centers, Patient Access, Digital Services, Shared Services, Admin & Legal.

FRAMEWORK EXECUTION TIERS

  • Tier 1: AI Quick Wins – Track and deploy immediate tactical initiatives leveraging existing personnel, data, and minimal capital.
  • Tier 2: Deep Discovery – Drive planning for high-ROI use cases requiring technical architecture and complex business modeling.
  • Tier 3: Capital Pipeline – Coordinate enterprise-transformative projects slated for formal submission into Capital Planning.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Healthcare PM Expertise: 10+ years of progressive IT PM experience, driving discovery or strategy in a matrixed health system.
  • AI/ML Delivery Literacy: Understanding of data science lifecycles, structured/unstructured ingestion, NLP, LLMs, and clinical safety bounds.
  • Blended Project Delivery: Mastery navigating both Agile/Scrum structures and traditional structured framework controls.
  • Executive-Level Governance: Proven capacity aligning C-Suite executives, clinical chiefs, and directors around strict deliverables.
  • On-Site Presence: Must execute face-to-face workshop facilitation inside Atlanta area client facilities as operationally required.
  • Tools: Advanced proficiency in Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, MS Project, and visualization mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro).
