Summary/Primary Role:

This role's focus is leading complex geothermal development projects from early-stage through full project contract execution. The position requires a unique combination of business development, stakeholder management, technical engineering knowledge, project execution skills, regulatory understanding, and financial acumen to successfully navigate the multifaceted challenges of geothermal project development. The role involves direct client engagement, working cross-functionally with internal teams, and day-to-day project oversight throughout the development process. The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-starter who demonstrates resourcefulness, and a relentless drive to push projects forward in a competitive business landscape.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Business Development, Sales and Revenue Achievement

  • Articulate Brightcore's value proposition in a compelling manner, build rapport, and implement sales strategies to steer clients' and stakeholders' decision-making.
  • Originate opportunities and bring in new pipeline projects.
  • Manage their geothermal project pipeline in alignment with management's direction to meet or exceed sales and/or revenue targets.
  • Conduct research on strategic associations, clients and partners.
  • Attend conferences and events to foster client and partner relationships.

Project Execution & Coordination

  • Lead and manage geothermal projects at varying development stages, while adhering to budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
  • Coordinate between internal and external teams to meet project timelines, while maintaining clear and professional communication with the client and key stakeholders throughout.
  • Lead project calls and manage tasks across different teams.
  • Create and update databases and dashboards on Hubspot, Monday, and other CRM platforms in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, review, revise project-related materials such as requests for information, proposals, and contracts.
  • Take ownership of the commercial terms and contract negotiations process with the Customer alongside the Legal Team up to contract execution.
  • Engineer and execute strategies to accelerate project development.

Strategic Communications & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Execute comprehensive and tailored communication strategies for complex geothermal projects.
  • Engage directly with end-user clients and project beneficiaries to actively build and/or strengthen direct relationships, understand user needs, as well as anticipate and address their concerns by proposing thoughtful mitigation strategies to ensure successful implementation.
  • Clearly communicate the project development process to customers and stakeholders to align on expectations.
  • Liaise with different project parties and internal teams to collate, share and submit information and other project-related materials in adherence to project deadlines.

Technical Analysis

  • Conduct research on and understand information from technical materials and documents such as geological maps, utility incentive programs and relevant regulations.
  • Synthesize information from sources such as feasibility reports and engineering analyses to share meaningful insights in support of team decision-making and project strategy.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field AND 3–7 years of experience in sales, project management, or project implementation.
  • 3+ years of experience in renewable energy, real estate development, MEP, environmental engineering, construction, or architecture.
  • Experience reviewing technical and financial documents (e.g., site plans, cost estimates, reports, grants).
  • Proven delivery of 3+ complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and disciplines.
  • 2+ years managing client-facing projects with responsibility for schedules and milestones.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Smartsheet) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Experience leading presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams with internal and external partners.
  • Track record of meeting performance or revenue targets.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position may have supervisory responsibility.

Expected Hours of Work & Compensation:

An Employee is expected to work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws, while exempt employees may be required to work additional hours as necessary to fulfill their job responsibilities. Overtime requirements will be determined based on the operational needs of the organization. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining an employee's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity). Brightcore also offers a comprehensive set of benefits to complement the base salary. The salary range for this position is $95,001.00-$130,000.00.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel may be required up to 20% to office/work/project sites in the greater Northeast Region and/or East Coast (but not limited to) of the United States.
  • Office presence required at least three (3) days per week, unless otherwise agreed upon with final approval by direct supervisor.
