As a Project Manager II, you'll be responsible for the launch and life cycle management of assigned projects to meet revenue, profit, sales and customer satisfaction objectives. This position required a combination of technical and business skills. The successful candidate will have project management job experience, as well as an understanding of strategic planning, finance, project management, operations and engineering, billing systems, and field sales.

Essential Functions

  • Manage the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple large scale, cross-functional projects.
  • Manage projects to ensure that life, functionality, and growth requirements are met.
  • Manage scope and mitigate risk across projects.
  • Develop, implements, and maintain processes and procedures related to Project management.
  • Management project budgets. Proactively engage with project funding organizations to assure proper funding is available for projects and assure budget information is managed and reported in accordance with Lumos methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external agencies.
  • Implement project reviews and quality assurance procedures in accordance with Lumos methodology to ensure profitable and successful execution of projects as measured by organizational goals and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and manage project issues across multiple projects.
  • Management client and third-party engagements as required by project demands and needs.
  • Assure that new projects are deployed according to standards while minimizing cost.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • MS Office knowledge required; specifically Word, Excel and Project.
  • Knowledge and experience with telecommunications network technologies, protocols, and operations.
  • Ability to plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects.
  • Competency with demonstrating clear, informative, persuasive and collaborative verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess strong worth ethic in supporting customer needs, responding promptly and consistently.

Other Experience & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with Project Management/PMP credentials desired and/or equivalent PM Experience.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience pertaining to the telecommunications industry desired.
  • Project Management experience required - both agile and waterfall preferred.)
  • Fiber or Telecom industry experience is preferred.

  • Frequently operates computer, keyboard, and related peripherals.
