Job description

Pecos, TX - 2 Week Rotation - Hourly Pay $50-$70 (72 hours a week)

Note... This is a two week on two week off position.  The company will pay for travel, hotel and per diem.

 

Job Brief

We are seeking experienced Fiber Optics Technician to manager to large-scale data center projects. Technicians will work a rotational schedule of two weeks on-site followed by two weeks off while another technician covers the project.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fiber optic cable quality assurance, and troubleshooting in data center environments.
  • Conduct fiber quality control inspections and maintain testing documentation.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, network diagrams, and installation specifications.
  • Supervise OTDRs, power meters, fusion splicers, and other testing equipment.
  • Coordinate with project managers, construction engineers, and client representatives.
  • Follow all site safety protocols and customer requirements.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience on large-scale telecommunications, fiber optic or structured cabling, or data center projects.
  • Significant hands-on data center leadership experience.
  • Expertise in fiber termination, testing, troubleshooting, and quality control.
  • Ability to work rotational assignments and stay in hotels during two-week project deployments.
  • Ability to work extended schedules of approximately 72 hours per week during active assignments.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • RCDD certification.
  • Technical certifications from CommScope, Corning, or other recognized fiber manufacturers.
  • BICSI certifications or equivalent industry training.
  • Experience supporting hyperscale or enterprise data center deployments.
