Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations and ensure that production targets are consistently met with high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a passion for team-building and teamwork, a deep understanding of production processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This role involves leading people, troubleshooting process issues, and working cross-functionally to support overall operation goals.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage, coach, mentor and support a team of associates to safely accomplish production and quality objectives on a shift, while ensuring highest quality team member experience and satisfaction.
  • Promote area standards and reinforce expectations for safety, housekeeping, punctuality, attendance, work performance, conducting performance reviews, and administering disciplinary action where appropriate.
  • Administer timekeeping and payroll responsibilities with zero-defect mindset.
  • Improve area safety and efficiency through regular auditing and continuous improvement
  • Interface with area leadership and engineering teams, and prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals
  • Schedule risk identification and mitigation
  • Coordinate collaborative efforts from support organization to minimize production interruptions
  • Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
  • Process non-conforming materials to efficiently return them to conforming state and normal product flow
  • Ensure optimization of product flow through the factory
  • Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking
  • Identify and eliminate defects within the area value stream. Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process with zero defects leaving a station or team area
  • Reduce downtime for product and personnel
  • Support efforts to transition product from engineering development to full-rate production

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/General Educational Development or higher degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a high-volume production environment and 1 year of managerial/supervisory experience
  • Must be able to do perform the following over the course of up to 12 hours per day 
    • Lift/push/pull up to 35 pounds
    • Stoop, twist, bend
    • Reach overhead
    • Stand for lengthy periods
  • Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a period of up to 12 hours 
    • Safety glasses
    • Steel-toed shoes
  • Ability to work a flexible shift, including nights and weekend

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principles
  • Experience in powder handling, chemical batch processing, mixing, roll winding and conveyance
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing conditions and requirements and ability to navigate fast-paced work environment
  • Proficient with MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
