Job description

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
  1. Assists with directing and coordinating all activities of Endoscopy.
  2. Focuses on Endoscopy within the Valley View system to obtain Safety, Quality, and Financial goals for the entire organization.
  3. Supports the Operations of Endoscopy and other departments as requested.
  4. Plans and coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for clients utilizing the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice.
  5. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with other clinical personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing practice.
  6. Supports the shared governance vision and nursing obligations of membership which guide the practice of all nurses at Valley View Hospital.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Oversees the daily clinical workflow and staffing for Endoscopy.
  2. Assesses and manages the efficiency of workflow and adjusts staffing, assignments, personal daily schedule, as necessary to assure workflow processes proceed smoothly and efficiently.
  3. Manages daily RN and support staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for patient care.
  4. Serves as liaison regarding coordination of patient care and resolution of issues.
  5. Collaborates with the Administrative Director Patient Care Services to create, implement and evaluate Quality Improvement Projects in Endoscopy that correspond to organizational initiatives: Safety and High-Reliability Organization, Core Measures.
  6. Assists with selection and recruitment processes for clinical staff.
  7. Actively involved with staff retention in coordination with the Administrative Director Patient Care Services
  8. Performs employee evaluations.
  9. Performs supervisory and correctional feedback with staff.
  10. Serves as a professional and clinical resource to nursing and support staff.
  11. Demonstrates professional leadership behavior, promotes a positive image of the departments and organization.
  12. Acting Director as delegated.
  13. Performs duties of Endoscopy RN, as needed.

REQUIRMENTS:
Education:
  • Current CO RN License or ability to obtain.
  • BSN required; Master's Degree preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) required

Experience:
  • 5 years RN Endoscopy experience required with advanced Endo experience preferred.
  • Progressive leadership experience preferred
