  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, with Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in a project engineering or project management role
  • Aerospace or defense industry experience highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and electromechanical systems

FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical leadership for engineering programs from proposal through design, development, analysis, testing, reporting, and qualification. This role is responsible for leading engineering activities, supporting program planning and budgeting, coordinating technical discussions, managing customer and supplier interfaces, and working closely with Design, Reliability, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management teams. The ideal candidate will have strong aerospace or defense project engineering experience, technical knowledge of hydraulic and electromechanical systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional engineering efforts while managing schedule, budget, risk, and customer requirements.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing engineering program activities throughout the full lifecycle, including proposal, design, analysis, development, and qualification testing
  • Providing internal leadership for engineering programs related to design, development, analysis, testing, reporting, budget, and schedule
  • Serving as the primary technical interface with customers
  • Generating and reviewing technical reports, presentations, and formal customer-facing documents
  • Performing program planning and budgeting activities
  • Acting as a liaison with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Leading project teams and interfacing with customers and operations personnel
  • Working closely with functional departments to ensure requirements are addressed
  • Supporting recurring and non-recurring cost management, schedule adherence, safety, product functionality, and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborating with Design, Reliability, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management teams
  • Supporting technical discussions and formal coordination meetings with commercial and military customers
  • Applying knowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes
  • Working courteously and effectively with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project goals
  • Performing risk management and alerting senior management when concerns may affect project cost, schedule, or system safety
  • Preparing project data deliverables
  • Developing requirements specifications for subcontracted components
  • Working independently and as a leader or key contributor on project teams
  • Participating in and supporting meetings involving company or customer personnel
  • Traveling to meet with customers and vendors or to perform equipment evaluations as needed
  • Presenting and supporting technical ideas that may affect current and future programs
  • Performing other duties as assigned
