Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Plumber specializing in New Construction Plumbing to join our dynamic construction team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems on new building projects, ensuring all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations. Your expertise will help bring construction plans to life, contributing to the successful completion of commercial and residential structures. Duties

  • Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately install plumbing systems.
  • Install, assemble, and connect piping for water supply, drainage, and gas piping systems, using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding techniques.
  • Ensure all plumbing work adheres to local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards throughout the construction process.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) tasks on plumbing fixtures and systems during construction phases.
  • Conduct heavy lifting and assembly of plumbing components on-site while maintaining safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with construction teams including carpenters and HVAC specialists to coordinate installation efforts effectively.
  • Inspect installed systems for leaks or defects; troubleshoot issues using mechanical knowledge and reading blueprints or schematics.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and compliance records.

Experience

  • Proven construction experience with a focus on residential or commercial plumbing projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with pipe threading, welding, pipe fitting, and assembly of plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of local building codes related to plumbing, gas piping systems, and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with construction site safety practices including OSHA standards or equivalent safety regulations.
  • Experience working with heavy tools such as power drills, pipe cutters, hand tools, and HVAC equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for measurements and material estimations.
  • Prior experience in field service environments involving maintenance or remodeling projects is advantageous.


Starting Pay is depending on experience, skill level, reliability, and ability to perform new construction plumbing work.
