Description:

The Project Engineer designs and oversees sound, video, lighting, and acoustical systems, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and profitability goals. Responsibilities include creating technical drawings, testing system performance, and simplifying complex technical concepts for clients and teams. Collaboration with Project Managers, Job Superintendents, and cross-functional teams is essential to ensure quality design, installation, and customer satisfaction.

  • Design audio, video, lighting, and acoustical systems aligned with customer specifications, installation requirements, and profitability goals.
  • Prepare submittal drawings and engineering data, including designs for custom enclosures, consoles, and installation instructions.
  • Test and evaluate system performance to ensure quality and alignment with design standards.
  • Simplify and communicate technical details for customers, sales teams, and Installation Technicians.
  • Document customer and vendor interactions, including dates, names, and concise summaries.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Job Superintendents to prioritize quality control and provide clear installation guidance.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment by collaborating across divisions and profit centers.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time; depending on job projects.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in CAD/AutoCAD.
  • Programming experience (e.g., QSC, Crestron, Extron, AMX).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
