Position Summary

The Director of Preconstruction & Project Integration is responsible for delivering a consistent, high-quality client experience from preconstruction through project closeout. This role leads the Estimating, QA/QC, and MEP teams while driving cross-functional collaboration, process excellence, and accountability across the organization. By aligning teams, optimizing project delivery practices, and ensuring adherence to RJM's processes, this position helps achieve successful project outcomes and shared organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Align workflows across preconstruction, operations, and closeout.
  • Improve communication, eliminate inefficiencies, and standardize processes.
  • Ensure strategies to maximize project success are developed early, communicated thoroughly, and executed effectively.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop leaders of the estimating, QA/QC, and MEP teams. Additional roles/departments may be added as a result of company growth and need.
  • Support training, onboarding, and continuous improvement related to this role’s responsibilities.
  • Partner with leaders to address staffing and skill gaps.

Client Experience

  • Support teams to ensure client expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Improve service department delivery and resolve issues thoroughly and quickly.
  • Support strong client relationships and enable repeat business.

Process & Performance Optimization

  • Enhance processes, tools, and best practices.  Ensure all required project setup and execution processes are consistently followed, while identifying where market- or job-specific adaptations may be beneficial.
  • Identify inefficiencies in project deliveries that maximize profitability and stakeholder experiences.
  • Develop and track proactive performance metrics, KPIs, etc., and drive results through accountability.
  • Ensure compliance and alignment with safety, quality, and risk standards.

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead or partner with other leaders, aligning strategic initiatives with business goals.
  • Support long-term planning, staffing, and organizational structure by identifying short- and long-term staffing requirements that maintain competitive overhead levels.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

Skills/Certifications
