Job Description:

The IT Business Partner for the Space and Mission Systems segment plays a critical role in aligning business strategy with technology execution. Serving as the strategic interface between IT and the business, this position develops trusted relationships across the segment to identify emerging needs, resolve issues, and drive value through technology solutions. The role also partners with business leaders to ensure IT considerations are embedded in bids, proposals, and strategic business plans.

Essential Functions:

  • Leading strategic planning, supporting implementation, and driving optimization of our digital systems. This role is driving collaboration, consistency and excellence from IT and maintains close business engagement.
  • Supporting the execution of sector digital transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with sector business needs, enterprise digital transformation frameworks, and IT policies and technical best practices.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with IT Service and sub-service owners to understand strategic plans and identify areas impacting the business.
  • Providing highly valued strategic consulting support and guidance through key IT initiatives.
  • Communicating decisions, priorities, and relevant project information to cross-functional staff at various levels concerning business unit requests, projects, and initiatives.
  • Proactively sharing knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantages and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business units.
  • Versatility and leadership are essential in this role, as you will frequently address new and challenging problems, requiring a proactive and adaptable approach to develop effective solutions.
  • IT liaison between IT Senior Leadership and Segment Business Leadership for Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Real Estate, Engineering, etc.ย ย 
  • Facilitate IT Service Delivery and escalations for business-critical services
  • Prioritize business requirements for annual strategic growth (SGP) and annual operating plan (AOP)
  • Coordinate and communicate the scheduling and implementation of major changes.
  • Attend critical segment and sector reviews, supporting IT inclusion in bids and business enablement
  • Maintain engagement and awareness of new business won and relative IT components
  • Engage in Segment Joint Strategic Planning for IT Enablement
  • Work with IT Service and sub-service owners to prioritize IT capabilities and collaborate on solutions that enable the business
  • Oversee successful completion of the Segment and IT sponsored initiatives
  • Conduct monthly finance reviews, focusing on allocations and passthrough forecasts/allocations.
  • Provide roadmap direction and leadership to ensure the successful implementation of IT strategy within the business.
  • Foster a trusted strategic partnership by guiding and supporting the business through the execution of IT initiatives.
  • Measure and monitor service delivery performance
  • Surface and advocate to improve IT service delivery challenges through operational excellence and Kaizen events
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and collaborate with business and technology teams to integrate new trends into an efficient Segment technology strategy.
  • Identify and communicate business IT needs, issues, challenges, and improvement opportunities with the IT Service Provider. Implement Performance Improvement Plans as necessary to restore performance levels to a healthy state.
  • Ability to support up to 25% offsite travel

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Current/ active TS/SCI security clearance or the ability to obtain
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Project Management certifications or relevant experience
  • Experience with IT Service Management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, ALM)
  • Demonstrated executive presence to effectively collaborate with leaders at every level
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry preferred
  • Cross-functional IT knowledge and experience (infrastructure, applications, security, etc.)
  • Self-directed, versatile, and able to prioritize multiple competing priorities and deliverables
  • Exceptional skills in written and verbal communication, mentorship, and leadership
