Job Description
SCOPE OF POSITION:
Take appropriate action to achieve success of assigned projects. Develop project plans, establish requirements, control risks and issues, monitor and control implementation, and facilitate stakeholder communication and relationships. Assist with proposals for new business. Pursue initiatives to improve companywide project management knowledge and integration. Support the organization's mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Perform business analysis functions including requirements gathering and documentation, process documentation and analysis, and elicitation of information from stakeholders and documents.
  2. Create and maintain detailed work plans for assigned projects.
  3. Develop project schedules, taking into consideration client or department liaison needs, department workload, resource/capacity constraints, and vendor capabilities. Negotiate/identify implementation time frames and delivery dates.
  4. Manage day-to-day project activities, project scope, project risk and issue logs, pre-defined project financials and other resources to achieve required project deliverables.
  5. Manage the completion of assignments and guarantee timely output of deliverables that meet requirements from each project.
  6. Guide, inspire, and motivate team members and stakeholders to manage and overcome issues to effectively achieve project objectives.
  7. Utilize project-tracking software to track projects, maintain accurate performance data and produce reports. Collect, update, and distribute master work plans for budgeted work within the department and to requesting departments.
  8. Deliver consistent, relevant, and professional communications to client, management, team members and stakeholders on a regular basis to provide information and communicate needs and requests as appropriate.
  9. Develop lessons learned documentation and drive organizational learning.
  10. Participate in proposal development, pricing estimate, and other strategic development initiatives when requested.
  11. Conduct specialized research requests and handle various other special projects as directed.
  12. Prepare and submit reports as assigned or requested.
  13. Follow AFMC, state and federal protocols regarding data confidentiality/security and compliance with HIPAA and other laws.
  14. Conform to an ethical behavior governed by responsibility, respect, fairness, and honesty in the practice of project management.
  15. Additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of project management concepts, tools, methodologies, and approaches to problem-solving.
  • Intermediate skill level with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience using project tracking tools.
  • Judgment to escalate issues to appropriate stakeholders when necessary.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills demonstrated by ability to lead, influence, and motivate others without formal authority to assign them work.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Communications, Public Relations, related field. (1)
Desirable: Maintained Project Management Professional certification. With management approval, AFMC will pay for reasonable costs associated with maintaining desired certifications.
1 Five (5) years' work experience in related field may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree. If work experience is substituted it is in addition to stated work experience requirements.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Three (3) years of experience leading or coordinating projects.
Desirable: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience leading projects. Experience with healthcare quality improvement projects. Public speaking experience or training. Experience with BPMN process modeling notation. Experience with CRM or cloud-based software.
