POSITION DESCRIPTION


Position Title: Project Manager II

 

Organizational Relationships: Reports to Project Management Office Manager

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

 

General Function: Collaboratively develops, manages, and timely completes assigned Project Management Office (PMO) projects following standard project management processes. Partner with key stakeholders and collaboratively serve as the leader of their assigned project(s). Assist PMO Manager with mentorship of junior Project Management colleagues.


Position Functions:

  • Develop and manage full scale project plans, schedules, and charters which include but are not limited to the tasks, milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and secondary support processes within project management standards to ensure timely completion of assigned projects.
  • Lead and manage assigned projects by overseeing scope, requirements, schedules, budgets, risks, and project reporting. Act as the primary liaison for stakeholders, proactively identifying and resolving risks and issues, and escalating concerns when appropriate to ensure successful delivery and achievement of project objectives. 
  • Develop and document requirements for each assigned project using standard methodologies by working with the assigned Business Analyst, project sponsor, and/or stakeholders.
  • Coordinate activities involving third-party vendors and consultants, including monitoring vendor deliverables and contractual commitments.
  • Responsible for managing positive relationships throughout the organization, including all project team members, contributors, stakeholders, and executive managers to promote cohesive, functional project teams.
  • Identify and lead through consultation opportunities for project and department process improvements.
  • Analyze and interpret data to develop progress reports, proposals, and requirements documentation, and deliver to the PMO Manager.
  • Apply Whitefish Credit Union methodology and standards to projects and actions taken.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements:

  • Mastered ability to manage all phases of the project lifecycle through a variety of methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Ability to tactfully communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the phone with all internal and external stakeholders. Courtesy and tact are essential.
  • Ability and willingness to interact calmly and professionally with people from all backgrounds.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize day-to-day responsibilities with attention to detail and timeliness. 
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work with others in an effective manner, listen well, share work-related information and be tolerant of others’ work styles.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office; ability and willingness to work with a variety of office equipment and software systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs., with or without accommodation.
  • Complete mandatory annual BSA training that includes Red Flag, Identity Theft, OFAC, CTR and SAR reporting and thresholds, as well as the safe keeping of member information, and passing any applicable tests.
  • Follow all Whitefish Credit Union, Montana and Federal information privacy guidelines.
  • Adhere to all Whitefish Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Protect Member and Whitefish Credit Union confidential information.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in project management or business, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of similar or related experience leading and directing project teams to deliver projects within the constraints of the specifications required.
  • PMP Certification required, or candidate must be willing and able to study and sit for the exam within 12 months of filling the role.
  • Previous credit union or financial services industry experience preferred.
  • Information technology project experience preferred.
  • Previous Symitar Episys and JHA systems experience a plus.
