Job Title: Associate, IT Project Management

Job Schedule:  9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off

Job Location: Melbourne, FL

Job Description:

As the IT Project Management intern your role is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and budgets in a matrix environment. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. You will also define the project's tasks and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop full-scale project plans, timelines and associated communications documents to effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Direct and manage project development from initiating to closing through management of scope, time, cost, quality, resources, communications, risks, changes, and issues
  • Develop and deliver status reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Initiate and oversee all aspects of vendor management including the development of the Statement of Work and all aspects of communications and delivery
  • Help facilitate Portfolio Management process working with management and business to understand project priority, resourcing, and planning
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and encourage project team members and contractors and influence them to take proactive action and accountability for their assigned work.

Qualifications:

  • To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field or have completed their Bachelor's degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.    

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Certifications in Project Management strongly desired (PMP) strongly preferred
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project and/or Project Online.
  • PM experience in testing processes to include use-case creation and tracking results
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
