The Opportunity

You will serve as a critical design and technical leader, driving the successful execution of diverse real estate portfolio builds. This role allows you to bridge the gap between creative design intent and practical field execution for an owner-builder organization. You will have the autonomy to manage multi-faceted projects and the unique opportunity to collaborate directly with company ownership.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Create and maintain detailed AutoCAD drawing packages for commercial, hospitality, industrial, and luxury residential projects.
  • Develop floor plans, furniture layouts, space plans, interior elevations, millwork details, finish plans, and design intent drawings that clearly communicate project scope and design direction.
  • Translate design concepts into organized, accurate, and buildable drawing packages that support contractor bidding, budgeting, and field execution.
  • Produce detailed interior drawings with sufficient information to reduce ambiguity, minimize change orders, and improve coordination between ownership, designers, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate and track Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractors and field teams, ensuring missing details are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions, field dimensions, and project progress.
  • Collaborate closely with ownership, project managers, consultants, and construction teams to ensure drawings accurately reflect project goals and field realities.
  • Support budgeting and bidding efforts by developing clear drawing packages that allow subcontractors and vendors to provide accurate pricing.
  • Review design details for constructability and practical application, utilizing a strong understanding of construction means and methods from rough framing through final finishes.
  • Assist in identifying potential design conflicts, coordination issues, and scope gaps before construction begins.
  • Maintain project drawing standards, organization, revisions, and document control throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in interior design drafting, design development, architectural drafting, construction documentation, space planning, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD with the ability to produce accurate, organized, and highly detailed drawing packages.
  • Demonstrated experience creating interior design drawings, including floor plans, furniture plans, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, millwork details, cabinetry details, and space planning layouts.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, including the sequencing and coordination of work from demolition and rough construction through final finishes.
  • Ability to create design intent drawings that clearly communicate scope and design requirements to contractors, vendors, and field teams.
  • Experience coordinating and responding to contractor RFIs and identifying missing information before it impacts budgets, schedules, or construction progress.
  • Strong understanding of interior construction detailing, materials, finish applications, millwork, cabinetry, and field coordination.
  • Working knowledge of basic building codes, ADA requirements, and industry standards as they relate to interior spaces and design.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans and identify potential coordination conflicts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate and complete drawing packages that minimize change orders and field revisions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and drawing revisions simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with ownership, project managers, consultants, and construction teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously with minimal oversight.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to perform occasional site visits to verify existing conditions and support active projects.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Associate's Degree in architecture, design, drafting, or a related technical field.
  • Experience creating photorealistic renderings using SketchUp, Revit, Enscape, Lumion, or Twinmotion.
  • Specialized background in hospitality, commercial office, retail, multifamily, or luxury residential builds.
  • Practical knowledge of interior design detailing, FF&E selection, and material specifications.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Bi-weekly pay cycle with discretionary annual bonuses.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off packages
