PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Plumber Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems on commercial, industrial, residential, or government construction projects. This role leads field crews, plans daily work activities, and ensures all plumbing work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, plumbing codes, and company standards.

The Plumber Foreman demonstrates trustworthiness by consistently following company processes, enforcing safety and code requirements, and communicating honestly and transparently with project leadership. A positive work ethic is shown through strong jobsite leadership, proactive planning, and a commitment to quality, productivity, and accountability. As a team player, the Plumber Foreman works closely with field personnel, project management, contractors, and other trades to support coordinated execution and timely project completion.

RESPONSIBILITES:

Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, direct, and mentor plumbers and apprentices.
  • Supervise plumbing crews, assigning work tasks.
  • Assign daily work activities and monitor productivity.
  • Provide technical guidance, onthejob training, and performance feedback.
  • Promote a professional, respectful, and safetyfocused work environment.

Plumbing Installation & Oversight

  • Oversee the installation of water, waste, vent, storm, and gas piping systems.
  • Ensure proper installation of fixtures, valves, pumps, water heaters, and specialty plumbing equipment.
  • Verify pipe sizing, layout, slopes, elevations, and system integrity.
  • Address field issues, change conditions, and corrective work as needed.

Blueprint Reading & Coordination

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, plumbing schematics, and details.
  • Coordinate work with project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and other trades.
  • Attend jobsite meetings and communicate progress, manpower needs, and material requirements.
  • Identify drawing conflicts and assist with constructability solutions.

Safety & Code Compliance

  • Enforce company safety policies and jobsite safety rules.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national plumbing codes, OSHA regulations, and jobspecific requirements.
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective actions.

Planning & Resource Management

  • Plan work sequences and manpower requirements to meet project schedules.
  • Order, stage, and manage materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Track labor hours, productivity, and job progress.
  • Minimize waste and support efficient use of resources.
  • Managing tools, materials, and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Valid Journeyman Plumber license; Foreman experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of plumbing experience in commercial, industrial, or residential construction.
  • 3+ years in a lead, foreman, or supervisory role.
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Knowledge of plumbing codes and jobsite safety procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to successful pass a federal background check
  • Physical ability to work in demanding jobsite conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

  • Experience on commercial, industrial, or government projects.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience coordinating inspections and code officials.
  • Experience with medical gas, process piping, or large plumbing systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Jobsite environment-indoors, outdoors, and potentially in confined spaces or elevated areas.
  • Requires standing, climbing, lifting 50+ lbs, and working with tools.
  • Work may involve travel between job sites.
