Project Finance Coordinator

Scottsdale, AZ | Full Time - Hybrid

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Project Financial Analyst balances detail-oriented accounting execution with broader financial analysis and decision support. This role supports multiple concurrent projects with varying contract types and complexity and operates with a high degree of ownership while remaining closely aligned with project and finance leadership.


THE HEART OF YOUR ROLE: RESPONSIBILITIES

· Partner with Project Managers to review project status, track progress billings, and monitor financial performance, risks, and margins across active work.

· Track project revenue, backlog, budgets, costs, billing status, WIP, over/under billings, and closeout activity.

· Support month-end close, monthly project financial reporting, forecasting, and project profitability review.

· Support line-by-line client invoice review, PM coordination, timely invoice submission, and AR/collections follow-through.

· Prepare or support client invoices in accordance with contract terms, project requirements, billing schedules, and required phase-level detail.

· Review consultant/vendor invoices, commitments, coding, and payment terms to support accurate project-side AP processing.

· Support fee proposals, budgets, project financial assumptions, contract setup, amendments, and purchase order review.

· Prepare and analyze WIP reporting, earned revenue, over/under billings, margin analysis, forecasting, variance analysis, and project financial reporting.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Construction Management with finance exposure, or related field preferred.

· Approximately 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, project accounting, accounting support, AP/AR, construction accounting, construction finance, or another related business partnering role.

· Experience in architecture, engineering, construction, consulting, contractor, or another project-driven environment preferred.

· Strong Excel skills and ability to organize information, take ownership of follow-through, and communicate clearly with both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.

· Experience with Deltek Ajera, NetSuite, or another ERP/accounting system preferred.

· Sound financial judgment, high integrity, professionalism, ownership, and attention to detail.
