Job description

Overview

Renewable Properties is seeking a talented and driven Project Finance Associate to support the financial strategy and execution of our solar, BESS, EV charging, and powered land development and acquisition pipeline. The Associate will play a critical role in building, updating, and maintaining detailed financial models across our active portfolio, while also supporting buy- and sell-side M&A diligence and transactional execution. This role includes modeling and analysis for PPA and community solar RFPs. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to take ownership of key deliverables in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and optimize project- and fund-level financial models, ensuring alignment with underwriting assumptions, capital structures, and RFP requirements

  • Support execution of M&A transactions (buy- and sell-side), including valuation, modeling, due diligence, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders

  • Analyze and model PPA and community solar RFP responses, supporting bid strategy and pricing

  • Partner with internal teams to collect inputs and validate assumptions for development-stage assets

  • Prepare investment memoranda and presentation materials for internal approvals, investor discussions, and lender engagement

  • Assist with transaction structuring, investor negotiations, and execution of financing documents

  • Monitor late-stage and operational project financials, identifying risks and proposing mitigants

  • Track market trends, policy developments, and valuation benchmarks relevant to solar and BESS financing

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in renewable energy project finance, investment banking, corporate development, or M&A, with direct exposure to solar and/or BESS

  • Advanced Excel modeling skills, including project cash flows, scenario/sensitivity analysis, and valuation frameworks

  • Familiarity with tax equity structures (e.g., partnership flip) and renewable energy financing mechanics

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable insights

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority workstreams under tight timelines with precision

  • Proactive, collaborative approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

  • The candidate must be based in San Francisco, Miami, or New York City
