Job Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Production team to identify issues affecting safety, thru-put, efficiency, ergonomics, product flow and down time.
  • Identify areas of improvements within the current production process.
  • Ensure feasibility studies and team reviews are completed as per engineering procedures.
  • Prepare business case studies for investment.
  • Support cost down/lean/continuous improvement activities as defined by engineering.
  • Responsible for accurate documentation in system.
  • Responsible for updating control plans, work instructions, TPM instructions and in general any controlled document required for production to run the process.
  • Ensure all PPAP requirements are met due to any process change.
  • Work closely with all supporting departments to ensure support and planning agreements.
  • Work closely with sales, accounting, and purchasing departments, Tier 2 suppliers, and tooling vendors to ensure commercial needs are met in conjunction with engineering changes.
  • Corrective action team member.
  • Support audits.
  • 5S responsible for work station and department.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in a technical related discipline or 10 years related automotive experience and having skilled trade certification, with sound understanding of BIW build fit & function. Must have an understanding in the following areas, die / die process, assembly tooling, welding & sealer applications, CMM & datum alignment, data processing & reporting, customer tolerance concepts.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Project, Word.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong competency with working in teams or as individual unsupervised.
Core Competencies

Personnel shall be competent to perform their job function based on appropriate education, training, skills, and experience. Detailed training and competency requirements are defined in the specific Training & Competency Matrix for each functional area. Competency evaluation is through various sources including, but not limited to, process performance, performance appraisal, and competency testing, as appropriate.

Communication Skills

Ability to read and interpret all data reports, financial documents, customer technical reports for data tracking. Ability to create technical documents to convey issues, status and corrective action. Ability to effectively present all material relating to job description for management support &/or decision-making process

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems through solid root cause analysis with data / information collection, establish factual information and determine a path to resolution.
