Job description

Join our team as a Project Engineer and play a key role in bringing mechanical construction projects from planning to successful completion. Working alongside our Installations Manager, Estimator, Foremen, and project teams, you’ll help coordinate schedules, materials, documentation, budgets, and day-to-day project needs to keep jobs moving forward. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys being at the center of a project. If you have experience in construction or project management, can read plans and specifications, and enjoy working with both field and office teams, we want to hear from you.

Job Functions

  • Act as liaison between Estimator, Department Manager, and Installations Foreman.
  • Assist Estimator in reviewing plans and specifications for accurate bidding.
  • Process job number requests, contracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Manage project documentation, materials, status monitoring, billing, and invoicing.
  • Update RFI and submittal logs.
  • Prepare submittals and close-out documents.
  • Assist in the creation of submittal packages, as-builts, and close-out document packages.
  • Create and assemble job files for handoff to team members.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
  • Work with team to create work schedules, assign tasks, manage personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Develop project plans, work schedules, and budgets.
  • Work with Foreman to ensure technical accuracy of projects, review deliverables, monitor project progress, and implement quality control.
  • Coordinate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
  • Maintain and enhance ongoing relationships with customers and contractors.
  • Ensure deliverables meet company standards and customer expectations.
  • Prepare and distribute proposals and general correspondence.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced education in engineering, construction management, or project management preferred but not required.
  • Experience in project management, construction management, or field engineering.
  • Ability to read and scale architectural and mechanical plans.
  • General knowledge HVAC installation (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project) and Bluebeam.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse personality types.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Skilled in customer relations, with the ability to resolve disputes and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to manage multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
