Army Business Development Director


Support mission-critical initiatives and enable the growth of our business as a Business Development Director at GDIT. Here, youll become an integral part of how GDIT is able to ensure the safety and security of our nation.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Business Development Director, the work youll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Department of the Army. You will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities where GDIT can partner with the Army to deliver game-changing capabilities in support of Army transformation, while also growing our business.

  • Lead all aspects of account growth, new business development and customer relationship management across all levels within assigned accounts.
  • Meet with customers to understand the customer territoryrelative to portfolio of deals
  • Develop a pipeline of new opportunities for assigned Sector or market segment
  • Lead identification and qualification of new business opportunities that support the account plan, Sector growthgoals, and submit targets, throughout the opportunity life cycle.
  • Lead early development of win strategy during the Assessment Phase, prior to assignment of a Capture Manager
  • Lead identification, qualification, and capture on select OTAs with assistance from the Defense CTO/SA.
  • Execute call plans to collect information about opportunities; in collaboration with technical staff, offers and tests potential solutions; qualifies opportunities;document customer meetings in Salesforce.
  • Meet with OEM vendors, other GD business units, and potential industry partners to collect information about opportunities and customers
  • Develop customer relationships, improve customer intimacy, strengthen key customer relationships
  • Identify competitors, assess strategic fit, assess OCI
  • Prepare for and brief opportunities at formal gate reviews.
  • Develop and brief Pursuit Reviews
  • Provide insight from customer point of view throughout opportunity life cycle.

WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your initiative and drive for innovation and growth to GDIT. The Army Business Development Director must have:

  • Education: BS/BA Degree Required
  • Experience: 10+ years of Sales/BD/Capture/Proposal experience within the DoW/Army environment; preferably in a technical area (i.e. Signals, Cyber, etc.) and/or acquisition background (i.e. ACC, ACC-APG, PEO, CPE, PAE)
  • Demonstrated experience managing a pipeline of business focused on year-over-year Growth or equivalent experience managing a pipeline of acquisitions or major government projects.
  • Demonstrable track record of success converting that pipeline into single award wins upward of $50M and/or equivalent experience managing government projects or acquisition to successful completion/execution.
  • Experience developing Account Strategies or Strategies for Capability Development and Acquisition
  • Experience with forecasting capabilities and tools, including, preferably CRM tools (e.g. SalesForce), SharePoint, and all Microsoft Office applications
  • Assuming prior business development experience, willingness to provide deal sheet of opportunities led and supported with results (won, lost, pending) [without disclosing proprietary information]

  • Secret Clearance required to start, with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI
  • Location: Hybrid to Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD or Falls Church, VA office with the expectation the selected individual will work three (3) days per week in office/customer sites as needed
  • US Citizenship Required

  • Able to develop actionable plans by leveraging market knowledge

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $173,400 - $234,600. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
