The RoleÂ
ASD – A Home for Life is seeking a motivated and mission-driven associate to join the ASD Development Department as a Permanent Part-Time Development Associate. Under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer with hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement, special events, and development operations.
Will play a key role in supporting fundraising initiatives that sustain/grow housing and services for individuals impacted by chronic health conditions. What You’ll DoÂ
You will play a key role in sustaining and growing housing and services for individuals impacted by HIV. Working across fundraising, events, communications, and community engagement, you will help advance ASD’s mission through relationship-building, research, and strategic donor support.Â
Fundraising & Donor EngagementÂ
- Conduct prospect research to identify potential individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.Â
- Support donor stewardship through thank-you letters, communications, and briefing materials for donor meetings.Â
- Maintain and update the donor database, including gift tracking and record management.Â
- Build donor cultivation strategies using data and research to increase support and enhance donor experience.Â
- Support implementation of the organization’s marketing and direct mail campaigns, including deferred giving initiatives.Â
Event & Campaign SupportÂ
- Assist with planning and coordination of fundraising events, including invitation management, guest tracking, logistics, and volunteer support.Â
- Plan small donor cultivation events in partnership with the President/CEO, Communications, Development, and Operations teams.Â
- Provide follow-up communications and materials for events and campaigns.Â
Grant & Research SupportÂ
- Research grant opportunities and foundation prospects.Â
- Gather program information and supporting materials to assist with grant proposals and reports.Â
Communications & Impact StorytellingÂ
- Draft development communications, newsletters, and donor updates.Â
- Gather stories and impact data that highlight the organization’s mission and programs.Â
- Manage social media posts and weekly communications.Â
Community EngagementÂ
- Identify opportunities for community partnerships and collaborations.Â
- Conduct outreach to foster relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders.Â
QualificationsÂ
RequiredÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution.Â
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational ability and attention to detail.Â
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) or comparable software.Â
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.Â
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions.Â
- Collaborative team player with the ability to engage effectively with donors, volunteers, staff, and community members.Â
- Valid driver’s license and ability to lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds.Â
PreferredÂ
- Experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, marketing, public relations, or event coordination.Â
- Familiarity with donor databases or CRM systems.Â
- Passion for community service, social impact, and housing justice.Â
