SUMMARY


The Senior Development Associate supports the Development teams alignment around strategic compass priorities and annual department goals. The Senior Development Associatereports to the Director of Development Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Salesforce Management (~30%)

  • Enters andmaintainsaccuratedonor data in Salesforce, including new records, contact information changes, contact preferences, and facilitatesen-masse record updates in collaboration with the Information & Knowledge Management Team.
  • Maintains Salesforce data integrity by deduping records,identifyingand resolving data inconsistencies, and ensuring all information isproperly representedandmaintainedwith strict confidentiality.
  • Generates andmaintainsSalesforce reports for the Development team, deliveringaccuratedata insights to support fundraising strategies and stewardship engagements.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Development Operations to proactivelyidentifydatabase and operational inefficiencies, taking a solutions-oriented approach to resolving them.

Donor Stewardship (~30%)

  • Oversees end-to-end lifecycle of stockgifts, frominitialacceptance and donor verification to the final recording and tax receipt
  • Fields and responds to calls, voicemails, and email inquiries from donors and prospects, including management of the donation inbox ensuringtimelyand professional communication
  • Generates and distributes tax receipt letters for all applicablegifts ina timelyandaccuratemanner
  • Processes donor requests to update ordiscontinuerecurring donations and administer refunds whereappropriate,utilizingbothEveryActionand Salesforce
  • Manages matchinggiftconfirmations and the import of third-partygiving data reports to ensure donors are accurately credited
  • Oversees thetimelyfiling of State and Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) registrations and renewals.
  • Maintains team-relevant Campaigns in Salesforce by managing contact lists,addingand removing contacts as necessary, and coordinating the distribution of monthly VIP emails from CEO.

Event Support (~25%)

  • Leads administrative support for all external events where Development is either the lead organizer or a key planning partner.
  • Supports the management of Development event data within Salesforce including but not limited to, invitation list creation, pulling reports, and RSVP tracking.
  • In collaboration with the Communications team and the Director of Donor Engagement, supports with external event communications including invitation text, follow up notes, event flyers, and event registration pages inEveryAction.
  • Works closely with teams across the organization toidentifyopportunities for meetings and events, including managing a calendar of Programs staff travel and grantee travel.
  • Builds and manages a database of preferred event vendors in key cities across the U.S. including venues, caterers, A/V, etc.
  • Works with the Director of Donor Engagement andGiftOfficers to draft event project plans and briefing notes.
  • Occasional travel and work on nights and weekendsrequiredto support event activities.
  • Potential to lead event concept development and planning based on experience and interest.

Team Support (~15%)

  • Provides administrative support to the VP of Development, including calendaring, travel support, contracts, and ad-hoc tasks.
  • Manages the calendaring ofDevelopment teammeetings, and otherteam-related occurrences.
  • Forwardsand alerts all gift receipt notifications toappropriateGiftOfficerthrough proper channelsin a timely manner.
  • Manages andfacilitatesprinting, production, and collateral needs across the team.

  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3years of relevant work experience, preferably in a fundraising capacity
  • Strong demonstrated experience with a CRM platform, preferably Salesforce, including report generation and data management;proficiencyin Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlookrequired
  • Demonstrated experience processing charitablegifts, including stock transfers, recurring donations, and matchinggifts.
  • Experience coordinatinglogisticsfor external events, including vendor sourcing, RSVP tracking, and invitation workflows.

  • Administrative support experience in a fundraising or development setting

Salary range of $65,000 - $95,000*

*This range is reflective of our high-market geo and will vary based on the candidates city and state of residence.
