About the Role:

We are adding a Senior Project Engineer to support the execution of complex water and wastewater facility construction projects by working closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and field teams. This role is responsible for managing project planning, scheduling, procurement, cost tracking, subcontractor coordination, and technical project support while helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in line with project requirements. This position will be onsite supporting active construction operations and mentoring junior engineers and co-ops.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Project Engineer or Construction Engineer
  • Experience working on wastewater treatment plant or utility infrastructure projects preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with water or wastewater treatment plant construction
  • Exposure to self-perform construction work
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating field operations
  • Familiarity with project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and quality control
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or co-ops
Responsibilities:
  • Provide engineering support for day-to-day construction activities on assigned projects
  • Manage daily operations for multiple construction projects while supporting schedule, budget, and quality goals
  • Review contract plans, specifications, technical submittals, and shop drawings
  • Interpret engineering drawings and assist with work package planning and execution
  • Perform quality control checks on submittals, materials, and project documentation
  • Track project costs, budgets, and resource allocation to support project performance
  • Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders to support project delivery
  • Assist with procurement activities and subcontractor coordination
  • Identify field issues and help develop practical construction solutions
  • Generate and submit daily reports tracking project progress and milestones
  • Attend project meetings and support communication between field and office teams
  • Supervise and mentor Project Engineers and Co-Ops
  • Support project scheduling updates and reporting efforts
