We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cost Analyst to join our team at K&A Power Group in Westwood, Massachusetts. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Role Expectations:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining Owner cost sheets
  • Analyzing project controls reports and presenting finds to the project management
  • Establish and maintain a Project Cost Commitments which monitors actual vs. estimated cost of purchase orders
  • Coordinate the preparation of project work orders as required
  • Interface with projects financial and tax departments, Plant and General Accounting and Client Purchasing and Stores
  • Work with project estimates and cash flow/budgets to monitor and communicate status, variances, trends and completion costs for projects and individual contractors. Reports corrective action, as necessary
  • Allocate monthly cost via applicable Eversource applications (i.e. Powerplan, Maximo); process Journal entries as needed.
  • Review project Desktop Requisitions to ensure proper work order/accounting strings are utilized.
  • Working with the project management team to manage project cash flows and forecasts
  • Support the integration and use of E-Builder
  • Support the Project team in Project Closeout activities which include but are not limited to the following:
  • Development of units of property and cost allocation.
  • Review with Project Team to determine Project Scope
  • Review Engineered IFC Spec packages to determine detail of assets installed
  • Coordinate material returns with construction Representative and Material Coordinator
  • Resolve any cost discrepancies with Contracts Management and Project Manager
  • Provide UOP that meets the requirements of Plant Accounting Asset Registry for installed and removed asset
  • Material / Cost Reconciliation
  • Complete manual or adjusting journals entries to ensure material reconciliation
  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy and correct charge location
  • Partner with Plant Accounting to resolve any open items
  • Continue to support Investment Planning Organization in the completion of closeout

  • A bachelors degree from an accredited university or college in one of the above or related fields
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in one or more of the following or related fields: Cost analytics, finance, program management, project management, accounting or operations.
  • Experience working with cost tracking analysis, forecasting, budgets and accounting principles a must.
  • Demonstrate a high level of personal initiative and ability to interact with stakeholders in a positive and collaborative manner.
  • Demonstrate a high level of skill in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in Powerplant and Maximo
  • Hybrid Schedule- local applicants only

Pay Range $90,000$110,000/year
