What you will do
The HVAC Equipment Complex Projects Engineer is part of our Building Solutions North America business at Johnson Controls. Join our team of Engineers designing larger, more complex HVAC Equipment projects for our customers throughout the U.S.

This role can be remote.

You will support complex equipment projects and ensure they are completed accurately, on-time, within the scope of the contract and in alignment with customer expectations. You will work with the sales team and project management to maintain an effective balance between data center customer satisfaction and project financial results.

How you will do it

  • Manages project Profit and Loss (P&L) and customer satisfaction for all projects assigned.

  • Works closely with various branch administrations to manage backlog execution, schedule and forecast execution of projects up to two years in advance.

  • Actively manages project turnover process between equipment sales and equipment order execution.

  • Interprets engineering drawings and specifications to develop and provide engineered equipment submittals in compliance with, contract drawing, site coordination, and site installation requirements.

  • Follows standardized submittal generation guidelines for preparation and processing of engineering submittals, including but not limited to; final coil selection, coil hand coordination, fan selection, chiller performance verification, chiller configuration and option selection to match schedule, drawing and specification requirements.

  • Evaluates the contractual scope of supply and the impact of client-issued bulletins, field directives and/or scheduling changes.

  • Coordinates with other project team members to ensure cross scope items are identified, assigned, and correctly managed to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.

  • Performs associated cost estimates, prepares proposals, and works with sales in negotiating final settlement price and customer acceptance resulting from scope of supply changes / change orders. Coordinates the factory equipment order process to ensure technical and commercial compliance with contract documents and site coordination requirements.

  • Generates technical content of Purchase Orders for field purchased materials and equipment. Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials and equipment for assigned projects.

  • Coordinates with logistics to meet factory and project schedule requirements and reviews the equipment order status reports as needed, identifying any critical delivery requirements.

  • Ensures project documentation is compliant with contract requirements, Johnson Controls standards and the formal Johnson Controls equipment order execution process.

  • Coordinates customer-training requirements with local Johnson Controls service. Coordinates between the HVAC Branch and Customer to assure Johnson Controls receives payment in full upon completion of the project.

What we look for
Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 3+ years operations management experience, or mechanical engineering experience.

  • Project management.

  • Knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, thermal analysis, fluid dynamics, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead large complex projects with extensive execution teams and with professionalism, cooperation, and persistence.

Preferred

  • AutoCAD experience.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $90,000-105,000(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
