Job description

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide a welcoming environment for all visitors to Progressive Field while ensuring that all security measures and safety precautions remain in place. These functions take place across the Cleveland Guardians spaces, to include parking areas, the Executive Offices, and the ballpark.

WORK SCHEDULE: This is a part-time role offering between 24-40 hours per week. This position would take place during the overnight shift to ensure 24-hour coverage. Applicants will be hired to support third shift hours listed below.

  • Overnight Shift 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
  • Additional shifts assigned based on needs and availability.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Provide the Cleveland Guardians organization with exceptional service both internally and externally in a professional and timely manner. This is critical during all calls for service throughout the workday.
  • Interface with the Public, Contractors, Teammates, and Security Partners. In a positive, engaging, and effective manner.
  • Professionally communicate via varying technology means, including telephone, radio, email, and interpersonally.
  • Gain and maintain working knowledge of all Progressive Field security policies and procedures. This training is done through self-development, structured training, and on the job training.
  • Perform all daily security related functions, which include:
    • Conduct security screenings and bag inspections for Guardians teammates, visitors, contractors, media and other individuals arriving at Progressive Field.
    • Perform and support regularly scheduled security rounds and facility checks across all areas of the ballpark and grounds at any time of day.
    • Report and document any incidents, accidents, alarms, maintenance issues, intrusions, or any other occurrence that should be brought to the attention of ballpark management.
    • Maintain accurate logs, monitor contractor activities, supervise deliveries, and interacting responsibly with diverse entities conducting business at Progressive Field.
    • Develop proficiency to successfully utilize security systems, including video surveillance, access control, metal detection, radio communications, incident management software, and other related technologies.
    • Execute emergency response procedures in accordance with company security policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to work a variety of different posts with ranging responsibilities.
  • Support and engage in the Guardians culture of learning, proactively willing to learn, adapt and understand directions.
  • Monitor and direct traffic and parking in our underground service area.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license
  • Demonstrates reliability, responsibility, and motivation towards all assigned duties.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, displaying excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn and retain a thorough understanding and knowledge of all areas within Progressive Field and relevant surrounding grounds.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and respond appropriately in stressful situations and emergency situations.
  • Proficient in basic Microsoft Office Tool skills, to include Microsoft Word and Excel plus the ability to learn, understand, and use new technologies used at Progressive Field.
  • Ability to operate security-monitoring equipment, fire alarm equipment, and comprehend written security protocols.
  • Maintains good physical and mental condition to be capable of performing foot patrol duties during all weather conditions.
