Job description

A building materials supplier is looking for a Production Supervisor in the GTA. Reporting to the Production Manager, this individual will manage and direct the day to day operations and tasks in the department to make sure all goals and deadlines are met. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

Responsibilities:

·      Gather production metrics and report in accountability meetings.

·      Directing activities of employees in the production department ensuring that the finished products meets company standards and expectations

·      Ensure and manage job rotation among employees

·      Ensuring that the finished products meets company and quality standards and expectations

·      Training Employees on work instructions, equipment use, quality alerts, and company policies & procedures

·      Direct employees in a manner that promotes morale, teamwork, pride, productivity and quality.

·      Support new launch activities as necessary

·      Communicate with team zone leaders and employees in the department, by updating them on all information affecting the Safety, Efficiency, and Quality of operations.

·      Liaise with all supporting departments to resolve problems.

·      Accurately and promptly complete all paperwork associated with the position (corrective actions, scrap reports, production reports, downtime, employee evaluations, etc.)

·      Coordinate production part rework, repair or tear down as needed.

·      Communicate with zone leaders and employees, by continually updating them on all information affecting the efficient and safe operations.

·      Liaise with all supporting departments such as maintenance, engineering and quality

·      Completes paperwork associated with the position (corrective actions, scrap reports, production reports, downtime, employee evaluations, etc.)

·      Coordinate production part rework, repair or tear down as needed.

·      Report to Operations Manager regarding program performance, employee safety and daily metrics

·      Attends and participates in daily accountability meeting

·      Communicate with employees, ensure employee understand work instructions and are aware of any quality alerts. Maintain 5S housekeeping, Safety Audits,

·      Identify and record any problems relating to the product, processes or systems.

·      Control further processing and delivery of potential nonconforming product and follow-up with corrective action

Qualifications:

·      Degree or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent experience.

·      Experience in a supervisory role in a lean manufacturing environment is an asset

·      Computer skills, excel, word.

·      Understanding of process flow, process optimization, and process control

·      Able to Manage and lead a team

·      Mechanical or Process background would be an asset

·      Proven track record in driving lean initiatives
