Position Summary
:
The Maintenance Supervisor is an hourly, working supervisor position responsible for both leading and actively participating in the maintenance and repair of all production equipment and facility systems. The incumbent's primary duty is to ensure that all equipment and machinery in the plant's production facilities are installed, maintained, and operating in optimum condition while meeting safety, quality, and production requirements.
This is a hands-on role that requires the incumbent to personally troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain production equipment, as well as assist with equipment installations, modifications, and preventive maintenance activities. In addition to performing maintenance work, the Maintenance Supervisor directs and prioritizes the work of Maintenance Technicians, manages spare parts inventory, and oversees preventive maintenance programs.
The incumbent must respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency situations, including performing work outside normal operating hours, when necessary, to minimize production downtime and maintain operational efficiency.

Reports To: Production Manager
Span of Interaction:  Maintenance Technicians, Production Manager, Team Leaders, outside contractors, QA Manager, R & D Manager and Operations Assistant.
Skills and Temperament Requirements:
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Electrical and mechanical attestation/certificate
  • Hands on experience in trouble shooting and repairing Machinery (extruders, grinders, mixers, chillers, compressors, refrigeration and air conditioning system).
  • Strong observation, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and follow complex instruction manuals, blueprints, schematics and electrical diagrams. 
  • Ability to use computer-aided drafting software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks, to view blueprints and schematics.
  • Knowledge and understanding of PLC programming language and computer systems.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, keeping in mind that modifications and repairs to existing equipment and the installation of new equipment must be done promptly to minimize production down time
  • Ability to train others in the safe and proper operation and maintenance of equipment relative to their position
  • Ability to cope with stress and maintain a professional attitude while interacting with Protech employees and outside contractors
