Job description

What will you be doing!
- Supporting research teams by embedding within projects, participating in initiatives, and developing work plans that define timelines, deliverables, and workloads.
- Conducting in-depth information needs analyses and designing advanced search and retrieval strategies across multiple systems and repositories.
- Evaluating the credibility and quality of information sources while applying analytical tools to extracte insights and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Coordinating reference management tools, delivering advanced citation verification services, and forecasting workload requirements to support operational planning.
- Performing advanced literature searches, delivering documents, and ensuring strict compliance with copyright laws, including obtaining and tracking permissions.
- Managing library circulation activities, monitoring incoming requests across platforms, and maintaining accurate service statistics.
- Administering interlibrary loan services by reviewing, approving, and coordinating requests through partners, while optimizing cost and delivery timelines.
- Overseeing material storage processes by coordinating shipments and following up on service quality with external providers.
- Planning and delivering outreach initiatives by organizing events, engaging new employees, and promoting library services across the organization.
- Building and maintaining partnerships while updating and enhancing the Library Services website.
- Teaching information literacy skills and providing training on library tools, systems, and resources to both new and existing employees.
- Participating in professional development to maintain current knowledge and best practices in the field.
- Contributing to national initiatives by supporting the IAEA International Nuclear Information System (INIS) activities, including inputting, reviewing, and recommending Canadian nuclear literature.
- Providing backup support across library functions, assisting with acquisitions, and contributing to process improvements and operational procedures.
- Participating in committees and projects while maintaining, repairing, and processing library materials across formats.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.

- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security."

Working Conditions:
- Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
- Hybrid schedule: a minimum of two (2) days per week on-site is required, with additional on-site presence as needed to support reference services, collections, and client engagement.
- Primarily office-based, operating within a hybrid/virtual work environment using digital collaboration tools.
- Occasional travel to other locations or partner organizations.
- Prolonged periods of computer use and sitting.
- Frequent periods requiring sustained concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Occasional physical activity, including lifting, shelving, and moving library materials.
- Exposure to minor environmental factors such as dust and moderate noise/distractions in shared spaces.
This position is part of the USW 4096-404 Union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the USW 4096-404 Collective Agreement.
