Programming Intern information

What do programming interns do?

Programming Interns typically support ongoing development projects by writing and testing code, fixing bugs, and assisting with documentation. You may be assigned to work on specific modules, perform code reviews, or help automate repetitive tasks under the guidance of senior developers. Interns often participate in team meetings, collaborate closely with other interns and full-time engineers, and gain exposure to version control systems and agile workflows. These experiences are designed to help you build practical skills while contributing meaningfully to the team's goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a programming intern?

To thrive as a Programming Intern, you generally need a solid understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms, often gained through coursework in computer science or related fields. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, basic debugging tools, and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or C++ is typically expected. Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn, and the ability to communicate effectively within a team help interns stand out. These skills and qualities are crucial for quickly adapting to real-world projects, collaborating with colleagues, and making meaningful contributions during the internship.

Job description

Our Corporate Venture team, NexBreak Venture, is seeking a Growth Engineer Intern to ideate, validate, and launch AI-native products from concept to early traction, with a specific focus on engineering the growth mechanics that turn a prototype into a scalable business.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • This is a 01 builder position for someone who can code growth loops, instrument experiments, and drive measurable traction, not just recommend it.
  • Design, build, and ship technical growth mechanisms: acquisition funnels, onboarding flows, referral/viral loops, activation triggers, and monetization experiments.
  • Stand up lightweight analytics and experimentation infrastructure (tracking, A/B testing, cohort analysis) to measure what's working and iterate fast.
  • Rapidly prototype and test growth hypotheses across new AI products, then hand off winning mechanics to product teams.

Must have:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from a top-tier university. MBA a plus, not required.
  • Strong, hands-on coding ability (able to build and ship, not just spec) - Python/SQL/JS or similar, plus familiarity with growth/analytics tooling.
  • 3+ years of experience in growth engineering, software engineering, or a technical product/growth/GTM/monetization role.
  • Founder's mindset, builder's mentality, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence - able to turn experiment data into a clear recommendation for decision-makers.

Bonus point:

  • Passion for innovative technologies and artificial intelligence, with a strong pulse on key trends, themes and players
Hourly Pay: $40- $60
