Job description

Engineering Intern
Objective:
AutomationDirect is looking for a highly motivated, self-starter high school student that can take ownership of Engineering Projects to support the Technical Marketing Group at AutomationDirect as an Internship Forsyth (IF) student. This will be a full-time paid position for the summer, transitioning in the IF program in the Fall when school starts.
Responsibilities:
  • Electro-mechanical demo project design and construction
  • Demo equipment design and construction
  • Educational donations management and execution
  • Design and build devices and demos to support video production
  • Programming experience a plus

Qualifications:
  • Two IF periods required - student must commit to minimum of two hours/day at work during the school year
  • Requires Solidworks/OnShape CAD design skills - SW Certification preferred
  • Requires Electro-mechanical design and construction experience (Robotics experience a plus!)
  • Requires familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Requires excellent communication skills
  • Requires an independent self-starter requiring minimal oversight and guidance
