Job description

System Specialist Position Responsibilities:
  • Performs the verification of the system database and programming, ensuring consistency with the scope of work and engineered sequence of operations
  • Configures building infrastructure networks to facilitate the integration of smart building technologies.
  • Supports troubleshooting and resolution of inconsistencies in the functions or sequence of operations
  • Performs the set-up and configuration of network devices, workstations and user interfaces
  • Commissions proper network performance
  • Performs operational testing, verification, and acceptance providing reports to review system operation
  • Participate in final inspection and testing in coordination with 3rd party commissioning authorities
  • Ensure customer acceptance and participate in customer training on system operations
  • Complete and submit written reports, and provide field modifications and control system documents to engineering for as-built drawings
System Specialist Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required
  • Associates Degree in electronics or equivalent experience, preferred
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Mechanical Systems, or Facilities Management, and a minimum of two (2) years' experience writing computer programs and working with software applications related to Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Excellent customer service skills. Good verbal and written communications skills. Skilled in PC applications and in the use of word processing and spreadsheet programs
  • The primary work location is on active commercial construction sites. Candidates will need to be able to perform physical activities including lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, climbing stairs. Candidates will also need to adhere to safety guideline and requirements as established by company policies and practices
  • Proven experience in the integration of low-voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols, such as BACNet, LON, Modbus, KNX, XML, etc.
  • Siemens programming certification, ABB programming certification, Niagara N4/AX certification, Tridium certification or other automation vendor professional certification (advanced programming certification preferred with Siemens and Tridium)
