Job description

Carroll Engineering, Inc. is a small Civil Engineering firm in San Jose, CA. 


We are seeking a licensed Associate Civil Engineer to provide design support for site development projects from the conceptual phase through construction documents for small and large-scale Institutional, Schools K-12, College campuses, high density housing, commercial development, public works, and parks/recreation projects.  


Responsibilities:

ยท        Assimilate topographic surveys and architectural site plans into AutoCAD and Civil 3D

ยท        Grading, drainage and utility (storm, sanitary and water) design

ยท        Interpret campus as-builts

ยท        Layout new parking lots and locate buildings

ยท        Calculate earthworks

ยท        Hydraulic design

ยท        Develop storm water management plans and calculations

ยท        Coordination with clients, engineers and architects

ยท        Project management tasks such as preparing proposals for new work and monitoring schedules

ยท        Assist colleagues whenever necessary and other duties as assigned


Requirements:

ยท        PE required โ€“ please include license number on resume

ยท        Must have experience with school projects and DSA submittals

ยท        Experience coordinating with Architects on California schools/institutional projects

ยท        Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D

ยท        A working knowledge of surveying and survey principles

ยท        Knowledge of ADA requirements and building code

ยท        Knowledge of storm water best management practices

ยท        College Degree in related field

ยท        The ability to work independently, multi-task and manage multiple projects

ยท        Strong communication skills

ยท        Criminal background check


Job Type: Full-time, Remote Hybrid โ€“ Must be able to drive to job sites in the Bay Area for punch walks at least once per week. 


Salary: $120,000-$150,000 annually depending on experience. Signing bonus and potential ownership opportunity for well qualified candidates.
