Job description

Summit Federal Services, LLC (SFS) with headquarters in Oakland, Maryland, is a fast growing woman owned Small Business and HUBZone company with an outstanding record of performance providing more effective and efficient acquisition, business process, training, IT, administrative and security services to multiple federal agencies.
SFS is looking for a Database Programmer to provide support to CBL Battle Lab Facility located at Fort Gordon GA. All work will be performed onsite. This contract will support the CBL mission to provide experimentation support to the C- CDID with dynamic network experimentation integrated with CO, DODIN-A, EW and IA through the Cyber Battle Lab's Experimentation Branch (EB), Environments Support Branch (ESB), and the Army Persistent Experimentation eNvironment (APEN) Cyber Enterprise Service Center (CESC). The CBL Experimentation Support contract will provide support in the form of experiments, assessments, analyses and network support that will validate proposed new technical solutions to resolve known Doctrine, Organization, Training, Material, Leadership & Education, Personnel, Facilities Policy (DOTMLPF-P) capability gaps within the CO, EW, Network, and IA force modernization lines of effort This position is contingent upon contract award.
Position Summary
The Database Programmer designs, develops, maintains, and optimizes database solutions that support business applications, reporting systems, and enterprise data management. This role is responsible for creating database objects, developing data integration processes, ensuring data integrity, and improving database performance across operational and analytical environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain database structures, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for application support and reporting requirements.
  • Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data migration and integration.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to improve efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot database issues, data anomalies, and application performance problems.
  • Support database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to implement database solutions.
  • Maintain data quality, consistency, and integrity across multiple systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, and database standards.
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-8+ years of experience in database development and programming.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Experience with one or more database platforms:
    • Oracle Corporation Oracle Database
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • IBM Db2
    • PostgreSQL Global Development Group PostgreSQL
    • MongoDB MongoDB
  • Experience developing stored procedures, triggers, functions, and database packages.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and normalization techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance

  • Experience with cloud database technologies such as:
