Job description

One Tech Engineering is searching for an Electrical Engineer for a position located in Denver, Colorado. The Electrical Engineer will deploy and commission automated field devices, including capacitor banks, protection devices, and other distribution automation equipment.

The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate will have a Bachelorโ€™s of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering and 2-3 years of related experience.

Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Perform system studies and develop device settings to support reliable and efficient distribution system operation.
  • Coordinate with engineering, design, and field personnel throughout project planning, installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Maintain and update automated field device databases to ensure accurate system records.
  • Integrate field devices into Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and verify proper communication and functionality.
  • Assess advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) capabilities and support the evaluation of advanced meter functionalities.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to field personnel during installation, testing, and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor automated field device performance and conduct meter functionality testing to ensure system reliability and compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance automation, metering, and distribution system performance.


Requirements of the Electrical Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of related experience, power systems engineering preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Eaton Cooper capacitor bank controllers, SEL protection devices, and Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS).
  • Experience with Python and SQL programming is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
