ProSidian Seeks a Mechanical Engineer - Engineering (DS113) (Engagement Team | Exempt - Time and Materials) to support an engagement for a liquid waste contractor (Savannah River Remediation [SRR]) at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, which is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy.

This service supports Environmental Management Sector Clients (For Present / Future Requirements) and ProSidian Team Members (# FTe's: 3) work as part of an Engagement Team Cadre (Labor Category Mechanical Process Engineer (Mechanical / Chemical Engineer) DS113) to fulfill T&M - Time and Materials (T&M) requirements. 

Mechanical Engineer - Engineering (DS113) Duties:

Provide engineering support services on assigned SRR Engineering Teams. Engineering support services include engineering analysis, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to:

  • Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment, Pipe, and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.
  • The individual at times will be required to travel off-Site to interface with vendors, fabricators, and other Engineering organizations.
  • Engineering Services will be provided using SRR processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRR.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. All employees, in the performance of their respective responsibilities, shall conduct themselves in the highest possible standards of ethical and business conduct.  The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.

Education: BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

Experience/Skills:

  • The candidate must demonstrate five (5) years of design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.
  • Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of ASME B31.3 code requirements.
  • Candidate demonstrating experience in 2D Microstation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred.
  • The candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (This employer participates in the e-Verify program)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe)
  • All ProSidian staff must be determined eligible for a "Facility Access Authorization" (also referred to as an "Employment Authorization") by the USG's designated Security Office.
  • Other Requirements and Conditions of Employment Apply
  • May be required to complete a Financial Disclosure Statement
  • Must be able to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigative requirements, up to a Top Secret or DOE "Q" clearance.

Work Hours:

  • A 40-hour workweek is scheduled.
  • SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B).
  • Work week excludes SRR holidays. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch.

  • A security clearance is not required.
  • U.S.  Citizenship Required - You must be a United States Citizen

Travel: 

  • Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements. 
  • Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, as allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
