Come build your career with Donaldson! We're looking for a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer I for our Auburn, AL facility. This is an intermediate-level engineering role, evaluates and introduces process and product modifications, standards, and improvements through knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes, while increasing product quality, output, and cost effectiveness for the corporation.
On-Site: Qualified candidates must be able to work an on-site schedule at our Auburn, AL facility.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Monitors and modifies equipment to ensure safety and efficiency in the production line. Implements corrective actions
  • Reviews and verifies accuracy of existing procedures and bill of materials
  • Negotiates final design to ensure manufacturability and product requirements
  • Conducts testing and evaluation of products and processes
  • Conducts studies for process and product improvements
  • Develops and analyzes testing procedures to anticipate any potential process or product failure
  • Conducts studies to improve plan layout, production line efficiency and production line control
  • Contributes to product failure mode and effects analyses
  • Manage product or process development projects
  • Collaborates on technical program objectives and product specifications that meet marketing and manufacturing needs
  • Recommends and employs new equipment
  • Provide technical support to developers to ensure manufacturability of developed products and processes

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 1 year of related professional engineering work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience and interest in hands-on engineering concepts, for production tooling, production changes, and process engineering. Evidenced by prior work experience, internships, co-ops, student clubs or hobbies.
  • Ability to work with people from multiple disciplines to successfully accomplish project goals (project management leadership).
  • Makes use of good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of DFA/DRM and lean principles.
  • Working knowledge of business acumen and financial management.
