Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving multiple DoD customers in support of America's warfighters, is looking for a Python Developer to join our software engineering team developing next-generation Navy tactical communication solutions in the Charleston, SC area. We are seeking a motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented Python Developer to assist our Navy customer in defining, developing, maintaining, supporting, tuning, and troubleshooting software and hardware infrastructure on Linux servers. These key positions are part of a dynamic team fulfilling technical needs of our military. We are seeking motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented computer professionals to join our growing company. If you have a strong Linux development background, reinforced with networking knowledge, leverage your passion for engineering, development, software and working with cutting edge technologies with us.


You Will:

  • Develop solutions on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers
  • Work with container technologies (Docker/Podman)
  • Instantiate and administer Red Hat virtual machines (KVM)
  • Automate tasks using shell scripting (Bash)
  • Develop applications using Python
  • Research and resolve software bugs
  • Maintain source code in software repositories (Git)
  • Perform testbed demos and proofs of concept to leadership
  • Assist subject matter experts with software engineering change request (ECR) requirements and software documentation

You Have:

  • US Citizenship
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance
  • The ability to maintain a DoD IAT II certification
  • Experience with Red Hat or similar Linux distributions
  • Experience with creating Linux Bash scripts
  • Experience with programming in Python
  • Familiarity with layer 2 & 3 switch and router technologies
  • A passion for learning about, and working in the IT industry
  • Strong documentation and oral communication skills to clearly communicate will all levels of users, engineers, managers and organizations
  • The ability to work with others in a highly collaborative environment
  • The ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities
  • A self-motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to quality

We Would Be Impressed If You Have:

  • Experience with Navy shore-based systems
  • A Linux OS certification

Education/Experience:

  • BS Degree in relevant technical field or combination of education and experience
  • CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent
