ABOUT THE ROLE

The Industrial intern - Production, Maintenance, Optimization and Systems primary objective is to provide support in all facets of plant industrial, Production and Systems project activities. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the cement industry, industrial equipment and the maintenance of the equipment.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Follows and ensures full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all contracts and project site meet the Lafarge safety policy requirements for our employee's safety.
  • Ensure that the procedures are documented and updated to reflect field realities and standards (e.g., LOTOTO records).
  • Participates in the review of various safety procedures, maintenance programs, and optimization projects.
  • Lend a hand in the analysis and propose solutions on recurring problems of equipment reliability.
  • Supports the Production, Maintenance and Optimization teams in the evaluation and improvement of operational plans.
  • Assists in activities ensuring practices are documented and comply with plant Standards.
  • Facilitates the coordination, scheduling and supporting of production, optimization and maintenance activities.
  • Provide performance analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: Enrolled in a CEGEP Industrial or Mechanical Engineering program or Bachelor's of engineering.
  • Preferred Field of Study: Industrial - Mechanical Engineering program.
  • Work Experience: Prior work experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, including other internships, is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: MS Office, Google Suite and SAP.
  • Bilingualism in French and English (written and spoken) is required, as the incumbent must regularly communicate with clients, suppliers, and team members outside Quebec.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of project management procedures, cost control, and scheduling.
  • Ability to work on many tasks at the same time while keeping excellent organizational skills.
  • Good leadership ability and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a high drive and motivation to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Knowledge of the cement technology and manufacturing is an asset.
  • Experience using SAP PRD, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Well organized and systematic.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
