Job description


  • Evaluate Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for new and modernization installations and prepare I/O lists

  • Participate in site surveys, design review meetings, site readiness meetings, and factory acceptance testing

  • Develop I/O lists and I/O channel allocations

  • Participate in site installation and commissioning

  • Prepare and update engineering documentation, including installation work packages

  • Conceptualize control designs and present them to customers during customer design reviews

  • Perform basic and detailed engineering of DCS system control cabinets

  • Create loop drawings for field instrumentation

  • Calculate heat loads for DCS/PLC cabinets

  • Guide the design, development, and implementation of complex hardware solutions while adhering to manufacturing capabilities


Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Control disciplines

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience preferred

  • Experience with DCS and PLC hardware design preferred

  • Experience evaluating DCS installations and preparing I/O lists

  • Knowledge of digital and analogue design

  • Knowledge of engineering processes and power plant applications

  • Working knowledge of DCS and PLC hardware and I/O types

  • Working knowledge of DNP 3.0, Modbus, IEC 61850, TCP/IP, and Profibus connectivity

  • Basic knowledge of IT networking for DCS/PLC applications

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical

  • Strong problem-solving skills and task-oriented approach
